Sam’s is an idea, a concept, a way of life. We are building a community based on dance, music, art, friendship, and fun. These are some of the people who have helped us and continue to help us. They are Sam’s brick and mortar.
When we requested photos from friends, talented artist and lovely friend, Jay Senetchko, sent us this. His work is always engaging, provocative, and stunning.
Our trainee, Alex, danced with us while doing some post-doctorate work at UBC. Sadly, he has returned to Germany but we hope he will visit soon.
Even kids can be Sam’s in the hopes that we will someday be able to offer dance classes for them.
Phantoms in the Front Yard figurative artists collective attended our Grand Opening. Will they dance? We hope so!
Robby, Aira, & friend have supported us from the start. Both Robby and Aira participated in our Dance in Transit Project.
Bridget helped us with our Grand Opening party and we’re waiting for her and her partner, Jay, to join us for classes.
Dana has been our student since day one and she continues to learn Salsa and Bachata in both Group and Private lessons.
Jean-Guy was our photographer extraordinaire at our Grand Opening party in November. We love our photos!
Simone is from Brazil and is one of our dance instructors.
Our two Swiss misses Katrin & Eveline. They danced with us while visiting Canada. We miss them and hope they will come back soon!
Carmen—our trainee from Chile—was with us for the first few months of classes. She was a big help to us and we wish her well.
